Beneath the Promises

Beneath the Promises — Oil on canvas board — 20 × 18 in

Beneath the Promises — Oil on canvas board — 20 × 18 in

The story

Beneath the Promises explores the hidden cost of so-called development. Towering industries and dark, smoke-filled skies represent rapid industrial growth and its impact on nature. Beneath them lies a fiery landscape, symbolizing deforestation, pollution, and the displacement of tribal communities from their ancestral lands. The hanging figure represents ordinary people who hold on to promises of progress without realizing they are becoming its victims. The contrast between the grey industrial world and the burning red below questions the true price of development.
